STUDIER AV SAMVERKAN MELLAN AVLOPPSVERK OCH LEDNINGSNÄT Del 2. Modelltillämpningar / Integrated Analyses of Sewer Systems and the Wastewater Treatment Plant – Experience from three Swedish Applications Part 2. Applications
Demonstration studies were accomplished in the cities of Helsingborg, Halmstad and Sundsvall as part of the Technology Validation Project (TVP) ”Integrated Wastewater” (1997-2000). All three projects were focused on the analyses of the interaction between the sewer system and the wastewater treatment plant under variable operational conditions, created by the application of real-time control (RTC) in the sewer network. One essential part of- the project has been the development of an Integrated Catchment Simulator, with both sequential and simultaneous simulation capability of different parts of the sewer system (treatment plant -STOAT, sewer -MOUSE) and the receiving water bodies – MIKE 11. In the paper results from this type of simulations are reported. The background methodology is described in Part 1. In Halmstad and Helsingborg different RTC-schemes has been studied from a total pollution discharge perspective. In Sundsvall the dynamics of the sediment transport within the tunnel storage depending on the regulation strategy was modelled.
